The book is designed by highly respected graphic design duo Mevis & van Deursen and presents a visual history of Lixenberg’s iconic photographs of Biggie and Tupac. These photographs, commissioned by VIBE magazine in 1993 and 1996, have been appropriated until this day by innumerable admirers around the world. The book shows both shoots in their entirety for the first time and retraces the unforeseen trajectory and ubiquity of these images. The publication is accompanied by an essay written by Robert Kenner and a poem by Kevin Powell - both renowned contributors of VIBE magazine - as well as a large poster.
